چکیده
A novel ferrocene-based substrate for the ratiometric electrochemical detection of β-galactosidase was designed and synthesised. It was demonstrated to be an excellent electrochemical substrate for β-Gal detection with sensitivity as low as 0.1 U mL-1.

Rapid whole-cell sensing chip for low-level arsenite detection.
A novel whole-cell sensing chip system consisted of a micro-concentrator, a set of electrochemical detection electrodes, and a microfluidic channel was developed for rapid detection of arsenite in water. Firstly, the E. coli cells transformed with arsenited-regulated reporter plasmids were incubated with solution contained arsenite. Under this condition, the level of reporter protein, β-galacto...
متن کاملRatiometric electrochemical detection of alkaline phosphatase.
A novel ferrocene-derived substrate for the ratiometric electrochemical detection of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was designed and synthesised. It was demonstrated to be an excellent electrochemical substrate for the ALP-labelled enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
متن کاملHydrodynamic Voltammetry as a Rapid and Simple Method for Evaluating Soil Enzyme Activities
Soil enzymes play essential roles in catalyzing reactions necessary for nutrient cycling in the biosphere. They are also sensitive indicators of ecosystem stress, therefore their evaluation is very important in assessing soil health and quality. The standard soil enzyme assay method based on spectroscopic detection is a complicated operation that requires the removal of soil particles. The purp...
متن کاملSmall quinolinium-based enzymatic probes via blue-to-red ratiometric fluorescence.
A small fluorescence ratiometric probe consisting of a single dye species, N-methyl-6-hydroxyquinolinium (MHQ), and coupled enzymatic substrates, exhibits a dramatic colour change (deep blue to red) and possesses a huge response ratio (over 2000 fold) upon specific recognition of target enzymes. Such dramatic responses are attributed to the excited-state proton transfer processes of MHQ molecul...
متن کاملA new electrochemical substrate for rapid and sensitive in vivo monitoring of β-galactosidase gene expressions.
A 4-Methoxyphenyl-β-galactopyranoside (4-MPGal) substrate incorporating 4-methoxy phenol (4-MP) as an electrochemical reporter is described for the monitoring of β-Galactosidase (β-Gal) gene expressions. β-Gal derived from Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Aspergillus oryzae (A. oryzae) were investigated, while a graphene oxide film modified electrode was employed as the transducer. The electroche...
